Description Peace and tranquillity everywhere, with only the cry of the curlew and the sheep, panoramic views all round, the brilliant purples of the heather on the hillsides in August - all this and yet only 40 minutes or so from Manchester, Stockport, and Manchester Airport. Solitude in the Hills
A wood burning stove in the
dining room provides additional warmth in
the winter, as well as adding nicely
to the cosy atmosphere of the house, although there is central heating and full
carpeting throughout.
The guest lounge is also
south-facing, looking out over extensive views, and can be used by guests
throughout the day, which can be especially welcome if the weather turns bad. A
range of books and maps is available to help plan what to do, and there is also
a selection of games to play. There is a television with teletext and a
video.
Children are very
welcome and we are able to accommodate horses. See also our Pennine Bridleway Trails web site. Please note that we are a no-smoking establishment. Hearty
farmhouse breakfasts, are provided as a norm, but vegetarian breakfasts, or
lighter breakfasts are available if required. We don't normally do evening
meals, just because there are many good pubs nearby which do excellent meals at
very reasonable prices. Some of these are even within walking distance, if
you're relatively energetic. Packed lunches can also be provided if advance
notice is given. |
